BusinessCAS Advisory Board Meeting Will Convene Post-Conference

WATERTOWN, Mass. (January 15, 2018) — Liaison is proud to be moderating a timely, interactive panel discussion at this year’s GMAC Leadership Conference. The session entitled “What’s Next for GME Admissions” will address the factors putting pressure on GME admissions professionals and provide approaches schools are taking to confront trends such as the recent drop in MBA applications.

Robert Ruiz, Liaison’s vice president of strategic enrollment, will moderate the session and will be joined by panelists Shaun Carver, assistant dean, graduate programs for Rady School of Management, UC San Diego; Dr. Toby McChesney, senior assistant dean, graduate programs for Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business; Dr. Monica Powell, senior associate dean and graduate dean for Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas; and Dee Steinle, executive director of MBA/MS programs at Kansas University School of Business.

The panelists will share the approach their schools are taking to attract applicants and engage new markets. Afterwards, there will be breakout group discussions on key areas representing challenges for GME admissions professionals, including: declining international applications, a shortage of admissions’ human resources, the lack of applicant pool diversity, MBA program marketing changes and Millennial attitudes towards MBA degrees. Attendees are encouraged to share their own perspectives and engage in conversations with colleagues.

Following the GMAC conference, all members of Liaison’s BusinessCAS™ advisory board will convene at University of Miami for additional discussions on pertinent topics impacting GME. “We are very excited to be hosting the board on our campus,” states Dr. Loubna Bouamane, director of admissions at University of Miami and a member of Liaison’s BusinessCAS advisory board. “Having the ability to brainstorm with my colleagues helps us maneuver more effectively through the changing GME landscape and I am grateful to be part of this forward-thinking group.”

Dr. McChesney, who serves as the BusinessCAS advisory board chair, adds, “What began as a decision to implement a more efficient way to process applications via BusinessCAS has turned into an opportunity to engage in strategic conversations and exchange ideas with my GME colleagues through the advisory board. We face the same challenges and we all benefit from the collective wisdom we can share to improve and strengthen our admissions processes.”
